Episode 10 - Developing Skills Through FFA

Episode 10 Overview - In this episode, Dr. Jeck has a conversation with two special guests about the skills students develop through their involvement in Future Farmers of America (FFA).  Guests include Claire Ledbetter and McKenzie Hurley, two officers in the Fauquier High School FFA Chapter. Claire, a senior, serves as the chapter's president.  McKenzie, a sophomore, serves as the chapter's sentinel.
Dr. Jeck poses the following questions to Claire and McKenzie:
        • Claire - You accidentally ate some radioactive vegetables.  They were good but what's even cooler is they endow you with a superpower of your choice.  What's it going to be?
        • McKenzie - You discover a beautiful island upon which you may build your own society.  You make the rules.  What is the first rule you put into place?
        • I just arrived from Mars.  I don’t know anything about FFA.  Give me your elevator speech. How would you describe it?
        • What would you say is at the top of the list in terms of a leadership quality that FFA tries to instill?
        • Ten years from now, what do you think you might be doing?  How do you think your experience in FFA might help you achieve that goal?
        • How many are in the chapter at Fauquier HS?
        • What does the officer structure look like?  Are they elected? Who elects them?
        • As your superintendent, how can I help to strengthen, improve, make the FFA program even better than it is now?
        • Do you feel like you have what you need as far as equipment?
        • Do you have any tips for making my chickens lay eggs?
        • Do you see yourselves making an impact outside of the realm of FFA?
        • Any final thoughts?
